SportsReach came into being in 1997, building on the established football league and adding soccer schools and international tours to its range of activities. Since then it has continue to grow locally, nationally and internationally with many hundreds of lives coming under the sound of the Gospel every year.
Based in the town of Carnforth, Lancashire, SportsReach concentrates the
majority of it's work in the UK, working with Schools, Churches and young
people. The rest of the time is spent helping and encouraging the Church
overseas.
This vibrant, independent ministry under
the local leadership of its director, Graham Stamford, continues to develop
and expand. As well as building and improving on the many successes of the
past, SportsReach, with God’s provision and guidance, is constantly seeking
new opportunities to introduce young and old alike to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Graham is helped by Will and Sue Marsden
who are Assistant Directors in the work; Will is also the Soccer Schools
Coordinator. Rob Dixon has joined the team as an Administrator. SportsReach
has a board of trustees to which all staff are accountable, who give their
wisdom and insight to help see that the work keeps to its principles. Much of
the work is done by volunteers and our associate workers, who give their time
to work in every aspect of the ministry, currently number around 20 which
enables us to expand the Lord's Ministry across Carnforth, the UK and the
World!
